I love watching movies. I always have three Netflix films at the house and also enjoy watching documentaries on HBO, many of which are so well done. I am not a huge fan of going to the theater since screening times never seem to juggle well with my schedule. Judging from the responses to our poll question that is currently running, you love the movies, too. It’s interesting to see the films that you have seen or plan to see as I am curious as to what you like to do when you are not reading books. Thus, if you have not yet weighed in, you can answer our poll here and our question here.

February may be coming to an end, but we have more than enough books that you'll love to read in the coming weeks. And March brings its own excitement. This coming Wednesday, March 2nd is Read Across America Day, the National Education Association's nationwide reading celebration that takes place each year to coincide with Dr. Seuss's birthday. Thousands of schools, libraries and community centers participate across the U.S. by bringing together kids, teens and books. Click here to learn more about this bookish day.

Every once in a while, a really special book crosses your desk and you’re not expecting it to be anywhere near as good as it is. It becomes one of those pleasant surprises that reaffirm your love for comics, silly as that may sound. It happens a lot with me in genres that I’m not really tuned in to anymore (or at least that I’m not attuned to in the way I used to be). For example, superhero books. Long ago, I found myself feeling pushed out of the genre, the genre that got me hooked on comics in the first place. Things seemed a little less fun, continuity seemed harder and harder to follow, and the characters didn’t feel like the old friends I grew up with anymore. It may have been my reading tastes that changed, or maybe it was them…whatever it was, things certainly didn’t feel the same.
